As far as I know, your only options to get GC are:
-- DREAM ACT (which is not something you can control)
-- Marry a US Citizen (which obviously is something you can consider)
In the meantime, whatever you do, do not go out of the country.

We got "Approval Notice Sent" emails 6 days back. I received my EAD 3 days back but haven't received my wife's yet.
Has anyone filed for Replacement EAD? Do we need to wait 30 days from the date we received the approval email? How long does it take usually to receive a Replacement card?
Please share your experiences.

"Card production ordered" is the first status that you will see and then it will change to "Approval notice sent". Tentatively, Your card will be postmarked with the date when your status changed to "Approval notice sent" and it takes upto 4 calendar days to receive the card through mail. Usually, approval notice goes to attorney on file for 765, if you have filed G28 otherwise you will receive it. Call USCIS and find out whether the card is ordered then ask for follow-up actions and decide whether to file for replacement card. There is no separate form for replacement cards - you will still be using same 765 form; I guess, same processing time applies - you may expedite by taking infopass after receiving the receipt notice for your replacement card by providing the letter from the employer. Hope this helps.

Also, looks like USCIS is upgrading their database in an effort to centralize all information that are currently scattered all over. This, they believe, would help them to predict number of cases, category wise, and hence predict VISA cut off dates precisely.
If this happens, I believe, the spurt of approvals that we were seeing during the last quarter of the FY, for the last 2 years, will not happen anymore.
This is good and bad. Good as applicants with older PD with get their GC. Bad, as applicants with recent PD will wait forever to file their 485.
We are in for a very long wait. And this is amidst growing economic crisis, 485 denials based on AC21 etc.

You can and for that matter anybody can ask any question and hopefully anybody can answer as well! However if anybody can be of any help, that person should know the problem at least partially. Your query was so incomplete so that anybody can give any helpful answer or make any useful remark, other than saying please calm yourslef, wait for the RFE and we will help you take care of it!!.
(However if you just wanted to get the number of people who came across a situation where their 3 year old got an RFE (?) after their GC got approved, you question is making sense but for most normal people this is too little information to help you, in any way!)

Things r getting bad in the US...I'd suggest better move to Canada now and start a business if u have saved enough to start one. Wait for citizenship and come back later on a TN Visa which is valid forever (barring the pain of yearly extensions u shudn't have any other issue).
In the US u cud lose ur job anytime however stable it might look like now. Else what was the point in applying for Canadian PR and all the pains u took???

Remember not all job classification qualify for EB2, especially software related, check O*Net and then in this economy employer need to test the market and prove that he couldn't find a qualified american worker! Unless it's specialized skill i don't think it's easy!
If Priority date is usable even though I-140 revoked by the employer......this looks fantastic option to join new job where we can get Eb2 process.

Hello gurus,
need little help from you guys. Right now i am on H1b.
I am about to file my Family based I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131. on all these forms they are asking for A# ( Alien Registration Number).
I was on F1 visa before. so i have one expired EAD card which i got during my OPT in 2005. this card has a A#.
so should i put this A# on all forms( I-485,I-130,I-765,I-131) or leave it blank.???

As far as I know, the OPT A# is different from what you will get from filing 140. Once you receive 140 approval notice, it should have the A# which you can use on 485...If you don't have one or don't know, leave it blank...

That exactly my point too. Any unique protest idea should be shared among us and saved for future use.
I agree that protest idea should not be misused. They have listened to us once now they will say "what else they want". Though there are more long terms issues but i guess protest ideas can be saved for later on or wait for the momentum to buildup itself.

There are two pointless threads on this site, one is titled "The yanks are coming" and another as "US political system is broken". They both contain long rants of a single user. I seriously doubt if anybody ever reads them, as is evident from the absence of any other user's reply to these threads. Why don't we just remove them, or block them from showing up on the main page. Very similar issue happened with my relative just a couple of months ago.
Her I-140 was denied and H1-B expired in January 2009. There was nothing she could do. The company refused to extend H1-B based on the old labor and applied for a new labor instead. The issue with her I-140 was an incorrectly filed labor under EB2 instead of EB3.
Now she quickly moved to B1 (Visitor visa) on the suggestion of her lawyer to maintain status.
Since you have the option of renewing your H1-B, that is probably the best thing to do. Good luck to you :)

I would recommend you stick to you H1B by getting an extension on H1. The problem with EAD is that EAD extensions take long and there is no guarantee your EAD extension will be granted before the present one expires. If this were to happen you are out of status (ppl correct me here if I'm wrong). So maintain ur H1 status as far as possible.
